Hockey Scoring System

Core scoring

Ice time

  • Took the ice (any shift): +1
  • 18+ minutes for skaters / 30+ minutes for goalies: +2

Goals

  • Forward scores: +5
  • Defenseman scores: +6
  • Goalie scores (very rare): +10

Assists

  • Any assist: +3

Shutouts (no goals allowed)

  • Goalie clean sheet: +4
  • Defenseman on a team that keeps a shutout: +1

Saves (goalies)

  • Every block of 5 saves: +1
  • Save on a penalty shot: +3

Goals conceded

  • For goalies/defense: −1 for every 2 goals allowed while they're on the ice (per official box score) -1

Penalties & costly moments

  • Minor penalty: -1
  • Major or match penalty: -3
  • Missed penalty shot: -1

Captain boost

Your captain's total score is doubled. Pick wisely.

Performance bonuses

  • Two goals in one game: +3
  • Hat-trick (3+): +5
  • Star of the Game (chosen by our post-game panel): +3

These extras reward big nights and steady, smart choices over time.
