What is the difference in the eligibility criteria for RRB NTPC 2022 and RRB Group D exams?

Are the RRB NTPC and RRB Group D Examination Eligibility Criteria Different? 

Yes, there is a difference in the eligibility criteria for both exams. The educational qualification required to apply for the RRB Group D exams is 10th or ITI. Whereas, for the RRB NTPC posts, the aspirants are required to hold a higher secondary education or even graduation degree for some posts, such as Station Master.
Candidates can even apply for RRB NTPC and RRB Group D posts at the same time. if they can meet the educational qualifications and the eligibility criteria for both of them. 

RRB Group D Eligibility Criteria Vs. RRB NTPC 2022 Eligibility Criteria

There will be no RRB Group D exam in CBT2, in 2022. All the selections will be made based on the single stage exam conducted in July 2022. Unlike the previous years, no CBT2 examination will be conducted, due to which percentile based normalisation will be used for selecting applicants for further stages.
RRB will issue the admit cards to the candidates 4 days before the scheduled CBT while conducting the Group D exams. 

The eligibility criteria for RRB NTPC 2022 and RRB Group D examination are as follows:

I. RRB Group D 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Aspirants can check the revised RRB Group D eligibility criteria below:

  1. Nationality

The applicant must be either 

  • A citizen of India,
  • A subject of Bhutan or Nepal
  • A Tibetan Refugee who has permanently settled within Indian boundaries before the 1st of January, 1962.
  • An individual migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, Vietnam, and East African countries, including Zambia, Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, etc. However, the person who is migrating must be of Indian Origin.

  1. Age Limit

The aspirants appearing for the RRB Group D exam must be 18 to 33 years of age as of the 1st of July, 2019. However, the board has included some relaxation for specific categories. 

  1. Educational Qualification

The candidate must have a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) authorised by SCVT/NCVT or should have cleared 10th Grade from a recognized board.
However, the educational qualification may vary depending upon the RRB Group D post you opt for.
